Fun
We both enjoy being outside. Hiking in the hills or along the coast is a favorite past-time. David loves to fish and can't wait to show a little girl or boy how to tie a line. He also enjoys woodworking and has plenty of ideas for cradles, child sized tables and chairs, easels and any other items our child might dream up. Fariba enjoys gardening and working on the house. She can hardly wait to decorate a room for the newest member of our family.David holding Zach

Our Home
We live in Martinez, California about one hour outside of San Francisco. We have been blessed with a wonderful house in a family friendly neighborhood that is only a few blocks from the park and an award winning elementary school. We share our home with our dog Max who is looking forward to having a child to play with and another person to hit up for treats! The neighborhood children are constantly playing outside in the cul-de-sac and everyone is friendly with one another. The girls across the street routinely knock on our door and ask if Max can come out to play with them.

Careers
David has been working in finance for 15 years now and enjoys the challenges. He leaves early in the morning but also comes home early. He will be home every night for family dinners and able to attend any of our child's after school activities. He very rarely travels for business, which is just fine with him; he likes to be home. Fariba spent 12 years working in the health insurance industry. In 2005 she made a career change and now works in the development department of our county Food Bank. She is looking forward to being a full time, stay at home mom. She wants to be there to experience every moment!

Fariba reading to PeteParenting and Values
We believe that most of all children need time, attention and guidance. We feel in order for children to learn and grow, parents need to be there every step of the way. We look forward to reading stories each night, sitting down at the kitchen table to help with their homework, and providing an environment that helps our children grow into happy, self confident and responsible people. We also believe that children need to be exposed to many cultures and experiences. A lot of learning takes place outside of the school during trips to museums, plays, or while on family vacations. We can't wait to experience the world with our little one.

Our Road to AdoptionJose petting Max
We've known for many years that we would love to have children. When we couldn't get pregnant, it didn't stop our dream of becoming parents. The idea to adopt actually came easily to us. David's brother and sister-in-law have adopted four boys of various backgrounds and cultures, and the boys are incredibly loved by our extended families. Since we've seen firsthand how well adoption works, we are excited about our son or daughter joining the family in the very same way.
